Terilyn has a diverse background as both a performer and teacher. Instruction is rooted in her desire to understand the talents and desires of each individual student. Working with ages 4 to eighty she draws from a love of all styles of music to help them achieve their goals.

Her career first as a country artist (aka Terilyn Ryan) then later as a children/family entertainer provided great training grounds. Gathering skills in performing, recording and songwriting she released her original material to radio and television. Staying current she is still active in local, national and international songwriting organizations.

As a drama major at the University of Calgary her passion for musical theatre developed. Her students are regular award winners at the Kiwanis Music Festival, several have been chosen for the Provincials. It’s all about having fun and there are numerous events involving group and solo songs for all skill levels.

Her polestar is the Royal Conservatory method for voice. Lessons incorporate as many elements of this as students wish to pursue. It is useful for many styles of music. Terilyn has had the good fortune of receiving the gold medal honor for teaching through students in RCM exams. Whether you just want to sing better or be a performer she can guide you.

The focus for guitar is acoustic both popular styles and classical, just on playing or combining singing. Ukulele private and group lessons are available. Songwriting group classes will be scheduled as there is enough participants for a six week duration. One starting in May and one starting in July.

March 2018 is first year students entered the Kiwanis Speech and Drama Classes. Both the scholarship and the provincial recommendation were given to one of them. In past Terilyn has worked on audition monologues with students and one of them is now in major movies! Again, lots of fun! These session currently are private but, in the fall, we hope to offer a group setting and also puppetry classes.
